Chris Grundemann @ APRICOT 2015 to talk IETF & BCOP

Feb 26, 2015

After nearly 3 weeks at home (my longest stretch since last August), I’m off to join the already-in-progress APRICOT 2015 in Fukuoka, Japan. For those who don’t know, the annual APRICOT (Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies) is a: Ten-day long summit consist[ing] of seminars, workshops, tutorials, conference sessions, birds-of-a-feather (BOFs), and other […]

11Introducing RFC 7454: BGP Operations and Security

Introducing RFC 7454: BGP Operations and Security

Feb 25, 2015

Today I’m re-reading an IETF RFC that was published just this month. RFC 7454 is titled “BGP Operations and Security” and that’s exactly what it’s about. The documents’ abstract does a great job of summarizing the content: This document describes measures to protect the BGP sessions itself such as Time to Live (TTL), the TCP […]

Chris Grundemann @ NANOG 63 talking BCOP, IETF, and more!

Jan 30, 2015

It feels like I just got back from ION Sri Lanka. Perhaps that’s because I’ve only been home about 9 days! There’s no time to spare though, as we here on the Deploy360 team are ramping up into 2015. So, off I go to San Antonio tomorrow for NANOG 63! The change in calendar means […]

Onwards and Upwards

Jan 5, 2015

Wow! What an amazing year 2014 has been. Here at Deploy360 we’ve been extremely busy! Whether it was organizing meetings, hosting meetings, creating content, curating content, public speaking, researching, meeting new people, making plans with old friends, or traveling between all of these things (so many planes), we’ve barely had time to catch our breath […]

Operators and the IETF: Update from IETF 91

Nov 21, 2014

Two weeks ago I let you all know that I would be presenting our Operators and the IETF Internet-Draft at IETF 91. What a busy two weeks it’s been! Between all of the amazing presentations and conversations in Honolulu last week, and then hosting our first ever ION Tokyo this Monday, we’re all just now […]

15Discussing Network Operator Involvement in the IETF, at IETF 91!

Discussing Network Operator Involvement in the IETF, at IETF 91!

Nov 7, 2014

For the past several months, the DO team has been pouring over the survey results, continuing our discussions with operators around the world, and also discussing (and debating) how to put all of that together into a document. At the end of the day we decided to stay out of the way as much as possible, letting the results (and respondents) speak for themselves. I invite you to take a read and let us know what you think. I believe this is a great place for us to connect existing efforts and conversations, and hopefully start new ones as well. That discussion will continue in person next week. First on Sunday in the IEPG meeting, then again Wednesday morning, at a bit greater length, in the OpsAWG (Operations Area Working Group) meeting.

Chris Grundemann Speaking at the 2014 Government IPv6 Conference
