I just received an email via the arin-ppml<\/a> (public policy mailing list) announcing a new version of the ARIN Number Resource Policy Manual (NRPM<\/a>); NRPM 2010.2.\u00a0 This particular version is significant to me in that it implements a policy<\/a> that I co-authored<\/a>: 2008-7: Identify Invalid WHOIS POC\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ARIN announcement<\/a> lays out all the relevant details<\/a> quite succinctly, so I have included it here, rather than re-stating it all myself:<\/p>\n

On 1 July 2009 the ARIN Board of Trustees, based on the recommendation
\nof the Advisory Council and noting that the Policy Development Process
\nhad been followed, adopted the following number resource policy:<\/p>\n

2008-7: Identify Invalid WHOIS POC\u2019s<\/p>\n

A new version of the ARIN Number Resource Policy Manual (NRPM) has been
\npublished to the ARIN website. NRPM version 2010.2 contains the
\nimplementation of 2008-7. The new policy text can be found in the NRPM
\nin Section 3.6 Annual WHOIS POC Validation. For more information on POC
\nvalidation, please see:

NRPM version 2010.2 is effective 7 June 2010 and supersedes the previous
\nversion. See the Change Log for information regarding revisions to the
\npolicy manual.<\/p>\n
